Patient Care Manager, Surgical Services

Reporting to the Director of Acute Care Programs, the Manager of Surgical Services is accountable and responsible for the management of the human, fiscal and material resources required to meet the patient care needs of the patients in Pre-Op Clinic, Day Surgery, Operating Room, Recovery Room, SPD, Endoscopy & Minor Procedure.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Regulated health professional with a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree.
• Completion of Master’s Degree in relevant field is an asset.
• Demonstrates excellent in clinical practice. Perioperative Nurse Certification an asset.
• Central Service Leadership Certificate required. CSAO Certification an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a hospital setting.
• Established reputation as a consultative, collaborative, coaching and/or mentoring style of leadership.
• Possesses strong and effective communication and team-building skills.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and change management skills
• Experience at forging partnerships with stakeholders from across the spectrum of health care enables you to see the “big picture” and anticipate opportunities that continually lead to best-in-class patient care.Experienced in the LEAN philosophy and have a proven track record of generating continuous improvements.
• Highly motivated, self-directed learner
• Knowledge and understanding of employer responsibilities in accordance with the applicable collective agreements; occupational health & safety; infection prevention and control, and risk management.
